Smile What did you do this weekend?

My son, OldVet Jr, is a special agent for the state department, and was recently asked by a couple of newbie agents what he did on his weekends. Well, besides taking every tactical course the state department offers, sonny is also a Lt. Cmdr in the Navy Reserves and currently assigned to a Marine Anglico unit. He had to requal as a jumper so when the newbies ask him again this week what he did, this is what they'll see. Three jumps on Friday.

He's also a qualified Dive/Salvage officer, an EOD-certified officer, squad marksman, among several other high-level tactical classes. I can't wait to hear what they said when he asks then, "So what did you do this weekend?"

OldVet Jr bears a striking resemblance to his father. You should be very proud of him and his service accomplishments. Congratulations on having such a son!

If it is ever your misfortune to be attacked, alertness will have given you a little warning, decisiveness will have given you a proper course to pursue, and if that course is to counterattack, carry it out with everything you've got! Be indignant. Be angry. Be aggressive.

Some talk the talk. Others are silent while they walk the walk. OV's son is the real deal. Congratulations to a proud papa.

He's a serious individual. As he likes to quote, "I have a particular set of skills." I counter with, "I know where you sleep and that you sleep with both eyes closed."

    "Got it," he'll reply.

Went to the Fishing and Boat show at the fairgrounds, the amounts and quantity of fishing gear in one place was just mind boggling. Didn’t care for looking at the boats since most of the prices were far too high but I did see one that looked interesting called a TwinTroller, nice little 2 person boat that would great for lakes or ponds. Did pick up a nice baitcasting reel and rod to replace one that was stolen.

OldVet, you have a son of whom you can be very proud (as you obviously are)!

    Sweet!

We just stuck around and watched the snow come down. I tried to get the snowblower running, but it was dead. With my sore heel and instep, I didn't do much shoveling, though the snow was rather light. Had to move vehicles when the plow came along and all the windows were iced up pretty good. Directed the shovelers this morning and this afternoon the sun came out and above freezing temps (barely despite forecast in the 40's) the ice and most of the parking lot snow melted. And took a nap.

I attended a funeral, worked on a Sunday School lesson, and then went to church, where I taught said Sunday school lesson and worshiped my Lord and my God.

OV, you should be proud of him.

I've been spending the day prepping for a colonoscopy tomorrow. I'd rather be jumping out of a perfectly good airplane.
