I carry my "alien invasion kit" 24/7 in the house. Glock 21 filled with 14 rounds of .45 Super goodness (230 grain JHP at 1150 fps).

Of course, upstairs is the heavy artillery in case the Russians get tired of meddling and decide to invade!

These days I'm less concerned about a home invasion than a SWAT team with the wrong address.

Sounds more like a hit, drugs were involved, the shooter had some type of grudge, etc vs it being a typical home invasion.

I wake up, get dressed, and then put my carry gun on. When I go to sleep, I take it and my reload off, and I sit it by my bed. Then I just repeat the process the next day.

I carry from the time I get dressed until the guns go on the nightstand when I go to bed. There have been some random armed home invasions in our area where the perpetrators were looking for cash and drugs.

My EDC is rarely off my hip before going to bed, but if it is, something else is within reach. I live in the country. A sheriff's deputy may be 10-15 minutes away.

Basically the same thing here but with a G17/G43 :)

Once out of bed in the morning pistol goes from the night location to the holster on my waist. Its comes out of that holster as I undress for bed.

100% of Home Invasions happen in the Home - and the County Sheriff will take some time to get to us.

Do I carry in the house? I take naps on the couch with my firearm still on my side.

Guns are very scary. All of mine are locked away, because they are so scary....

Always means always. Carry means carry! I do take my gun off when I go to sleep at night but it's very, very close.

When I'm at home, a piece is ALWAYS within my reach no less than 3 seconds away. Either my HK P30 or HK 45c. ALWAYS!
