    Stay safe on Halloween

I know this is a day late but I thought it might be worth mentioning.
John and his family moved to our small town from the suburbs of the big city. I liked John but we didn't have a lot of conversations. He did tell me about something that happened before they moved away from the city.
He said that it was Halloween and he was tired and lay down on the couch. His teen age son was handing out candy at the door when a guy pushed his way past the son. The son yelled and John picked up his revolver off of the coffee table and told the intruder to leave which he did.
John said that after the thug left the house he picked up a large rock and threw it through John's front window.
John said that the suburbs used to be nice but that it was changing and that is why they moved to our small town.
John passed away a few years ago but I still think of what he told me and I stick my pistol in my pocket before I answer the door.
    Happy Halloween!

Yup, passed out candy last night till 2100 with a 1911 on my hip.
If parents did not like to see that, they can bypass my house next year.
