I don't train to fight some street urchin, I train to fight the evil version of myself, and that person scares me, because I know the time I put into my training on how to beat him.

And for every article written telling you what to do, there is likely another that disagrees with that concept. Just like a 45 will knock you down, and a 9 is not enough. Maybe if I knock you out with it. Nothing is engraved in stone, except your epitaph . . . and that's only if you have a stone in your honor, or remembrance.

This is also the same line of thinking as the numb-nuts who say if your gun can’t pass a thousand round torture test, be saturated with dirt, mud and sand, and still fire flawlessly, that you need another gun.

The unfortunate reality we face is that, there are too many boneheads with opinions, than there are critical thinkers with some experience.
One of my favorites in the world of dumb “ assery” is when they tell you “ you don’t know what you don’t know”, which is a ploy to stop any debate on whatever subject it is, so that they can begin to educate you with all the things they think they know and have for sale.

The quickest and most reliable remedy for what one is told, is to take it with a grain of salt, and use your equipment, take a fundamentally sound training class, and apply a little bit of critical thinking to your own situation and needs.

My only handgun from the mid-1960s to the 1980s while I was in the military was a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 magnum. It was my plinking gun, hunting gun, self-defense gun, and home-defense gun.
