If by circumstance you as a concealed handgun carrier and you do not have an optic sight mounted and 10 or plus rounds minimum capacity handgun you are a dead person walking. You simply won't survive an armed encounter. It matters not that you are not in the military in some foreign land or in law enforcement walking the mean streets, you are simply ill equipped with out the previously mentioned optic sight and inadequate less than at least 10 round capacity handgun. Article after article in firearms publications that's the message and if you ignore that messaging you are a foolish person, no you're just stupid!
Yes I'll admit I'm one of those stupid people.

Guess I am a dead man walking.
Situational awareness and training trumps capacity in my opinion.
But, I do carry multiple mags so I cheat a bit.
All about the latest trends...
I would like to try a red dot on a handgun though.
a poor plan that is well executed will produce better results that a good plan that is poorly executed.
This is America. I have the right to go places. You have the right to stay home. You have the right to be upset about me going places. I have the right to not care.
It is good advice for those who insist on missing a lot.

Well, I reckon I’m a dead man a walkin:)

I feel like the firearms training community pushes the kind of thinking in the OP statement. They ignore that most people don't carry that way and they don't offer training for the way most people do carry. It's like a driver's ed place that teaches you by putting you in NASCAR races. I get why these "experts" continually ignore actual reports of non-LEO DGUs. Offering "Walter Mitty" shoot-em-up courses is more popular. They have created little "gunfighter fantasy camps."

Well, the way things are going maybe maybe all those worst case scenarios and semi paramilitary training courses will pay off. I'm beginning to think some of my revolvers are checking most all of the boxes concerning DGU's. For now.
