More gun control, more crime. Baltimore of course.

Shootings are surging in Baltimore despite the presence of bans on “assault weapons” and “high capacity” magazines, two of the Democrats’ go-to gun controls.
Maryland banned “high capacity” magazines and a variety of “assault weapons” via the Firearm Safety Act of 2013. That Act also required would-be handgun buyers to submit fingerprints to the state police as a part of the registration scenario.

On March 27, 2017, Breitbart News reported the criminal use of “high capacity” magazines was at a seven-year high. In other words, the ban had only impacted law-abiding citizens. Criminals still had – and still used – the prohibited magazines.

Now the Baltimore Sun’s Justin Fenton reports the shootings in Baltimore are on track to surpass the numbers seen last year, and those were up nearly 80 percent over figures from 2014.

Fenton noted, “In 2018 total non-fatal and fatal shootings in Baltimore were up 79 percent from 2014. And this year is ahead of last year’s pace. Unbelievable.”

Similar results have arisen in other places where gun control upon gun control has been instituted. For example, California has some of the most stringent gun controls in the U.S. Those controls include an “assault weapons” ban, a 10-day waiting period on gun purchases, gun registration requirements, a requirement that would-be gun buyers get a safety certificate from the state, a ban on campus carry, a “good cause” requirement for concealed carry issuance, and much, much, more.
Yet the state witnessed an 18 percent rise in firearm homicides between 2014 and 2016.

The city of Chicago banned handgun ownership in 1982, and that ban was in place till 2010. Homicide numbers while the ban was in place were even higher than the homicides numbers Chicago has infamously racked up during recent years.

For example, Americans were aghast when there were nearly 800 homicides in Chicago in 2016. But the Chicago Police Department reports there were 850 homicides during 1993. That is nearly 100 more homicides in 1993 than CNN’s figure of 762 homicides for 2016. Moreover, the Chicago PD shows there were 930 homicides in 1994; 921 homicides in 1991; and a startling 940 homicides in 1992.

All the homicides from the 1990s occurred while Chicago’s handgun ban was in place. Criminals held on to their guns, regardless of the gun laws.

Pennsylvania's lax gun laws are undoubtedly to blame.

I’m sure Ohio lax laws are to blame. Could be Arkansas, though!

Virginia often gets the blame for supplying guns to criminals in Baltimore, as well as NYC.

The grabbers sometimes refer to it as the Iron Pipeline.

Democratic law makers simply refuse to believe criminals won't follow new gun control laws. They keep doubling down, all to no effect. The classic definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different outcome each time.

I'm just glad I was able to escape MD with my family to a saner and safer environment. MD will continue to tighten down on gun ownership with super majorities in both houses of the legislature with NJ, CT, CA, CO, and NY setting such fine examples. Sadly, it looks like VA may be heading down this path as well.

As important as it is to recognize that strict gun laws do not decrease crime, it is just as important to recognize that strict gun laws do not increase crime either.

But it is fine to make a moral judgement that regardless of the crime rate, individuals have a god given right to defend themselves from criminals. And those law abiding citizens should not be limited to the absolute minimum, or worst defensive situation possible. Criminals do break into homes with a fair fight in mind. They do not bring the minimal legal weapon to the crime scene.

It’s not about the numbers, it’s about the agenda. Nothing has changed.

They do know. they don't care. They want the View audience to demand Government to keep them "safe" and government gives them "safety" nice and hard.

People who are going to shoot someone else probably are not going to let a sign or a law prevent them from doing so.

Law-abiding = obeys the law. Criminal = does not obey the law. Simple as that. Gun laws impact only the law-abiding.

These democrats are delusional wet dreamers that as other have said, know that it doesn't matter and it's just about control. The thugs in Baltimore do these shooting because they are animals and have no regard for life. Unfortunately these low IQ, gullible, ignorant democrat voters eat this false narrative up, and keep expecting results.
I am continually puzzled why these voters keep electing these democrat politicians and their false promises? Maybe the free stuff being offered being paid by the 1%?
With the unfortunate shooting events in Virginia Beach, our moron governor wants additional gun control. What they don't tell you is the shooter was a black democrat that purchase the firearms legally through an FFL and had a silencer tax stamp from the ATF which also required a background check. What they didn't tell you also is that he was a belligerent, troubled mentally unstable, hostile, threatening individual that was on the verge of being fired.
But don't worry, controlling legal, lawful gun owners or eliminating any fireman ownership will make everything better.......Just look at how successful it has worked in Chicago?

That makes a compelling argument for VA to have ERPOs.
