Not a news story cause he didn't pull this off. No guns found either - so you know this wont be national news. He was going to stab a bunch. Was he a white supremeister? Nope. I wonder what the school people would have done? I mean since they are all so prepared. (jking)

TAMPA, Fla. — Authorities Baker Acted a 22-year-old man for allegedly wanting to stab students and staff at a Tampa elementary school on Tuesday.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Andrew Aman told a roommate he was plotting to stab students and staff at Bellamy Elementary School on Wilsky Boulevard.

Aman said he disliked the school "because the exterior of the building is painted like an American flag," according to deputies.......

That lead in sentence really doesn't make much sense, especially if you don't know what the Baker Act is.

    Authorities Baker Acted a 22-year-old man ...
I wasn't sure if that was someone's weird name or what.

    Florida man syndrome?
What does stabbing a bunch of kids have to do with the school being painted like an American Flag?

Here is a case of using an appropriate legal action to prevent a lunatic from committing murder/suicide.
No need for a "Red Flag" law which would only remove one tool from the endless possibilities available.

    Hey OV,
What's in the water down there?

Authorities arrived and didn't find any guns at the house of the guy who wants to stab people so they figure he isn't a threat? How about looking for knives?

They would have hidden in their rooms with their baseball bats and buckets of rocks.
By now our forefathers would be shooting.

Only 7 rocks per bucket. No high capacity buckets for us.

Apparently, that's such an incredibly common occurrence in Hillsborough County that journalists felt no need to explain it to their readers.

Long before anyone need an act to do what's right, we called that "jail," or if you want to get fancy, "incarcerated awaiting evaluation."

I’m confused on the statement of “no safety threat” because no firearms were found. He threatened to stab students, not shoot them. Stabbing elementary children is not serious? Am I missing something here, or am I just dense?
