I found that moving the 1911 forward from where I carry the 9c is more comfortable and easier to draw.

1.5" Exodus Gunleather belt. I typically use a 40 degree kydex holster, but I have a brown leather 40 degree from Exodus that the Commander rides in, and a 15 degree Exodus (black one) that I carry one of my full size 1911s in.

Nice gear.. You can actually walk around town with that stuff exposed in Alabama?
Here in NY, you would be surrounded by a helmeted "tact out" SWAT team within minutes, screamed at to get on floor face down NOW, and if you even flinched once there, you'd be shot with 50 rounds in a second.. Seriously ... bob

I do, I stay out of the big city's, but I have never been looked at cross eyed by other people or law enforcement in any of the surrounding counties or rural Mississippi

How do I carry my 1911 pistol? (Kimber Custom CDP full-size .45ACP).
Daily. With confidence. Right-hand. Strong side. Loaded. Cocked & locked.
Lobo Gun Leather Enhanced Pancake holster, 15 degree butt-forward cant, at the 3:30 position.
Lobo Gun Leather B8 gun belt, two-layer construction to support the weight.
Lobo Gun Leather single magazine pouch on the off-side with spare 8-round magazine.

By the way, that "two pounder" is closer to 2-1/2 pounds with a loaded magazine.

I carried a full size 1911 for months and might again.
Fist kydex with adjustable cant. Concealment is a factor, I'm intolerant of printing.
As the pics show, that "big" pistol is concealed under summer attire even when sitting on a stool.

I most often carry my 1911ís in IWB Brommeland Gunleather Max-Con V holsters. A good gun belt is a must. I do occasionally carry the Commander sized ones OWB, usually in Wilson Combat, or Warbird Leather, holsters.

The all steel ones actually carry about as easily as the alloy framed ones.

    I carry my full-sized, Commander, & 3.5" 1911s the same way:

    OWB: D.M. Bullard "Bodyguard" @ 5-5:30
IWB: Minotaur (full forward cant) @ 5-5:30

Of course I use a quality bull hide gun belt & carry a spare mag weak-side in a D.M. Bullard "Bodyguard" mag carrier.
