Tennessee no longer has a live fire requirement for a CCW permit. It is a 90 minute class and you can take it online only.

Here's a link to the range that I go to. Obviously, there are others available.

HandgunLaw.us advises, and I believe it to be true, that this permit will NOT be honored by some of the states that have training requirements. The old permit, now known as the Tennessee Enhanced Permit will still be honored.

Locally the enhanced class can be had for around than $35.

There’s a bit of controversy around this new permit. But, it was promoted as a low cost alternative to the enhanced and possibly a way to reduce the number of firearms being left unattended in vehicles.

I don’t question the motives behind it. But, I think they should’ve just adopted constitutional carry instead. But wanted some way to raise revenue too.

I found the TN firearms test:

    Don't Shoot Your Eye Out!

    What's your score?

Hit the black box to start, space bar cocks, mouse aims, red bars shoots...don't shoot your eye out and get your permit.

Don't rely on gun shops for this type of info.
