    Dumb Sig question

I was looking at the specs for the Sig P229 Nitron Compact, and for the DA pull they list two weights; 6.5 pounds and 10 pounds. And, yes, I understand the SA pull is 4.4 pounds. Anyone know why they list two DA weights?

Miss print IMHO, DA should be around 10 pds, SA should be 4.4 pds. Remember the trigger gets smoother with use. A world class combat pistol you will never look back if you buy it.

Mine is 1994 vintage. I had them do the action job to it. So smooth and consistent.
    Maybe 8lbs, never measured it.

Not sure what they saying with 6.5 and 10

The 229 is a great pistol. At first I thought the 6.5 maybe was for the DAK guns but I don't even see those listed anymore.

I called Sig and the 6.5 pounds refers to the DAK trigger only. Although they don't manufacture that model anymore, they say there are still lots of them available for sale.

Yes, I have no regrets with my 229, although my CZs fit my little hand better.

My 229 is .357, handles it very well. I put the fiber optic green night stight on the front and standard Sig night sight in the rear. Befrore I had them do the action enhancement, I put the SRT in, wow that's nice.

Used to be that the heavier weight was the pull of the first shot assuming the hammer was decocked, all the following shots would be at the lighter pull (kind of a safety thing). And if I'm not remembering correctly someone will be along shortly yo correct me.

Still that way. But on the page for this specific model, they listed two DA weights. After calling them (see above) they explained that the DAK model (double action only) has the 6.5 pound pull. That model is not in production, but can still be found new in some stores.

I was too. But I actually got through to a real person who was very cordial in less than a minute.

That is probably the DAK Trigger. It has a 6.5# pull, but 10# at the reset, if you don't let the DAK trigger return all the way out.
