Thumbs up USMC To Adopt Modular Handgun System

I just found this great article. What I like the MOST/BEST about this is, the USMC is replacing the recent Glock firearms it acquired in November 2017 with the new SIG P320.
    OORAH!

I hope everyone is aware that it is not the P320 we are used to, it is the P320-M17 or just the M17, which has a manual safety.

Article is almost 6 months old. Given the issues the Army has been having with the M17, I wonder if the Marines have reconsidered?

The Army probably bought brand new ones and transferred all the busted-ass ones to the Marines.
If you use JP-8, then it's technically not waterboarding

I dunno. In Somalia the Marines had armored LAV-25s with 8 wheel drive while we had unarmored Hummers. Heck, the Moroccans had better gear than we did (French Panhard armored cars)...

Having worked in defense procurement from both sides of the table, there is always a tug of war between service independence and DoD commonality. I saw that the guns are going to the Marines for $180 apiece. I suspect they got a damn good deal, one even Glock couldn't beat.

What/when was the recall for the M17?
