Is the 856 the one that only shoots .38 special but NOT +P?

(But Brother Mil - you probably didn't notice but it appears that the thumb safety is missing ! You had better call them before they ship that beauty.)

Left hand, unless he wanted ambidextrous, thumb safety should be on other side.

I came very, very close to buying a Taurus 856 at Scheels a month ago. They dropped from $300 to $250. I still didn't feel good about it because of the 85 I bought on line with a crooked barrel. I handled all 4 856s they had. As luck would have it, none of them felt as nice as the first one in the counter that was sold before I could make up my mind. So I passed and bought an older 3" Bulldog on Gun Broker. I have no plans for anything else and since I first caught this trading and buying bug in the early 70's, I'm hoping I'm over it. Before the infection, I was happy with what I had for years.

No idea. I just bought a Sig P365 around Thanksgiving, and that purchased satiated my hunger for now. But in all honesty, I've bought beaucoup guns over the last five years and have pretty much scratched every itch. The spousal unit doesn't fuss when I buy a gun, and my safe still has more room, but I can't often shoot all the guns I have now. I'll just wait and see what comes along and surprise myself buying something I don't need but have to have.

But I did get a Taurus model 605ss in .357 and couldn't be happier. My Ruger LCR in .357 just kills the hand after only a few rounds. Most I'll ever use in it is .38+P. With the 605ss you can go through a box of ammo and be feeling fine. I would imagine the polymer 605 at the lighter weight would be kind of similar to the LCR in pain level.
I am looking for the Taurus 605. I want a snubbie with a little more weight than the airweights. 24oz. compared to 15oz.

    Not sure.

Probably something that is no longer in production, though. Also, I would like to replace the Kahr MK9 that I regrettably traded off 10 years ago, but I always find something else to buy in that price range when I corral money......

Possibly a Kimber K6S I saw traded in last week, but the new Glock G43X and G48 are coming too. So hard to tell.

Plus a LNIB GP100 Match Champion is at another place.

So many to choose from, so little overtime to go around.

Next gun. Wow. Well, unallocated cash has been scarce the past couple years, but the one on my list is a revolver upgrade.
