1st off, what "kind" of Zombies???
Are we talking the classic "Walking Dead" type, slow moving where a brain shot with a .22 will suffice.
Or are we talking the WW Z, more like rabid humans with super human strength and no chance of "psychological stop"?
May have to up the calibers if it's the latter. IF it's the former, I may go with a cricket paddle and a pair of roller skates. I've studied this stuff for a while:

Did you guys learn nothing from 7 years of TWD episodes? Z's hear gunfire and respond in force. You need silent reusable weapons like a lance, a sword or bow and arrows for zombies. Save your ammo for the sociopaths with baseball bats wrapped in barbed wire.
If you use JP-8, then it's technically not waterboarding
Don't make it harder than it is - travel with democratic politicians and when you see a zombie say "There's a vote!"
From the zombie movies I have seen, 12 gauge seems to be the most cinematic choice after the cricket bat. I've been thinking about picking up a Remington V3 Tac 13. Two of those in scabbards on my back seems to be way to go
The zombies in Daylights End and Patient Zero were not slow like the ones in Walking Dead.
I'm not inclined to disarm for a concert, game, (entertainment) and I ain't going on a plane or cruise.
"Wouldn't want to or Nobody volunteer to" get shot by _____ is not indicative of quickly incapacitating.
...I donít need no gun for a zombie, sticky fire!
Please relax, take a deep breath....

I believe Brownie says it best with YHGTBSM. Two pages???

Be careful what you put out there. The Universe is listening.
Iíd have to say my LWRC AR15. Tape two mags together for quick reload and pick them off.

I think I may need another 5.56. And more ammo. Wait ... do zombies break windows? Do they claw through walls or wood? Can they bust down an insulated steel garage door? Asking for a friend ...
In any kind of apocalypse, zombie or otherwise, the zombies would be secondary worries. The Living would be the worst of my worries. It wouldn't take long at all for gangs of ruthless marauders to organize themselves and start a literal reign of terror. Unless you live in the far reaches of rural areas being well armed and "organized" with you neighbors would be the best defense.
Single individuals or small family units living where most Americans living in cities or small towns would be in a dangerous situation indeed.
