I checked all the usual suspects...nothing. I found some with the shorter barrel, but none with the 4" barrel. S&W's web site is a mess - looks like the 3 Stooges have been programming.

For the popularity of the Shield 45 one thing that is lagging is holsters - or it maybe just that I'm looking for a shoulder holster that fits a bit better than the one for a Glock 19. I'm about to go upstairs and start looking at 1911 holsters and see what the size differences are.

Their customer service line has some wait to it, too. I hung up after being on hold for about ten minutes.

No thanks, UNTIL or UNLESS they come out with it in a regular front and rear sight with tritium and not that funky fiber optic crap. No fighting gun of mine will ever wear that set up. My first gen shield 45 is the hot weather go to, I'll just keep it as it's been flawless in function.

Anyone who might wonder about my comments about a Shield 45 fitting a 1911 holster...don't get all excited. It won't fit! I am always astounded about how tall the Shield 45 is from top of slide to bottom of the trigger guard. It is closer to a Glock 21 in the aspect.

Oh well. Maybe they'll hear my cries some day.

My shield 45 fits just fine in a hand boned g26/27 leather holster. I didn't have to go out and buy another holster for it when I got mine last year.

I'll give that a try. It doesn't like the Kydex holsters, but that is to be expected. It will fit in a Galco Classic Lite shoulder holster for the 26-27-19-23-32-33 size Glocks. I was looking for a shoulder rig to wear under a sport coat to church.

Hot damn that is one good looking pistol. Why'd you have to go and post this elegant piece of gun porn?

I used to have a Glock 30S and the M&P 45 Shield is not only more comfortable to shoot but for me, more accurate right out of the box as well. When I sold that 30S, I replaced it with an M&P 40c, which for me is quite a bit better that the 30S.
