    Glock 45 is now a Glock 19

I like the Gen 5 Glocks but the Gen 5 Glock 19 has the flared mag well and the front cut out that just bugs me. I could either buy a Gen 5 Glock 19 MOS (but still have the flared mag well) or I could buy a G45 and cut down the grip to G19 size.

Cutting down the grip to G19 size got rid of the flared mag well and the front cut out. The modified grip was put up against a Gen 5 Glock 19 and it is exactly the same length. Of course I know Gaston Glock would probably shoot me dead if he had seen this being done.

Bonus is I got the front slide serrations the G19 does not have.

Wouldnít it have been cheaper to get a Gen4 19 and remove the finger grooves? Itís yours and Iím all for making your gun fit you best and all donít get me wrong.

Actually no and the work was a lot easier than removing finger grooves. Cost wise I picked up the G45 with Glock Night Sights for just at $500 total. I'm selling the Glock Night Sights and will recover another $40 to $50 there as well. Plus the Gen 4 G19 doesn't have the front sight serrations.

Yah, I'm very happy with how it turned out. I have another G45 that I will not touch the frame on at all.

Glocks and ARs seem to be the Tinker Toys of gundom.

Sounds like you got just what you wanted, so congrats!

Looks good Diablo. Did you do the work yourself? I did the same thing to a Gen 3 G17 several years ago and it turned out quite well too. Chopping that G45 isn't something I would have done but it made it like you like it and it looks like you did a darn good job.

    Not what I was expecting.

But the only thing that matters is that you like it.

maybe Glocks should come with molded in score lines, for folks that want to do grip chops. Cut here for G19 length. Cut here for G26 length.
