Would You Carry a non 4473 EDC?

Thread title says it all...considering any type of issue that may arise should you ever need to use it,
despite how you acquired it, (from a friend, relative, trade deal, etc) without knowing the full history of such a pistol would you use it as your EDC or not?

Or would you only consider carrying something that you are either the original purchaser of, or acquired 2nd hand or older with a form 4473?

Very few of my guns were bought thru an FFL. So yeah, I would and I do.

A 4473 would have no bearing on my decision to carry something.

Would You Carry a non 4473 EDC?

I am carrying my Sig P220. I got this gun over 10 years ago. I was my first and only carry gun for the first 5 years I had my carry permit. Canít remember if was 4473 or not.

Iíve bought from family, friends and, people who just wanted to sell. The last ones range from a friend-of-a-friend to a guy in a bar who needed money keep drinking/pay off a bet. Iíve turned my back on a few, too. Just need to hone and follow your instincts.

P220 was my original EDC....great pistol. But your reply doesn't answer the question.

Or, was that the one you found disassembled at the bottom of the lake?

I don't really have that many handguns anymore (compared to some members here), but I have bought and sold enough to and from both dealers and private parties over the years that there are a few that I honestly can't remember whether I filled out a 4473 for them or not. I still carry them.

Probably not. Many of the handguns on the market to day have improved engineering, are proven reliable, easy to get repaired, etc. I have a 1996 Cadillac Allante convertible in my garage nest to my 2010 Cadillac SRX. While I love the Allante the XRS is a surerior car from all perspectives. The Allente is just for fun and an occasional car show. I just into new and improved.

4473 or not has no bearing on what I carry or use.

I'm having a hard time understanding a mindset that thinks a 4473 is even a factor in carrying.

The form is not relevant to my purchase or carry decisions. It is only relevant to the purchase mechanism that involves retail or wholesaler. Private sales are not governed.
