I get it, compromises are the story with concealed carry. I just have had some of those occurrences with semi-autos that not many talk about. For example, I've checked my 9mm or 380 during carry and found the magazine was not seated; somehow the release got bumped. It's just those little things that make me go, "You know what? I'm probably never going to need a gun, but I always want something on me. I'm not carrying a Glock 19 and three spare mags around all day with me, too much crap. I just want simple, light, reliable, and convenient." That something is the 642 snubbie.

    ...

I carry a revolver more often than a semi-auto. Were I to be limited to one EDC carry pistol, it would be my S&W 640.

Next one was a Security Six, carried that for years.

I still prefer my 442 over a pocket 380 for when just farting around the house. Sure the 380 would be lighter and easier to tote but I like 5 of 38 spl +P over 6-7 of 380.

Not a knock against 380, but I always have a soft spot for me old trusty snub.

I'm one of those who believes that getting familiar with a double action revolver trigger will make you a better shooter with any gun, especially those twinky triggered striker fired guns.

I have mostly carried 1911 or similar SAO pistols. Except when I carried a FNS9c for a few months but it just wasnít for me.

I like the warm fuzzy feeling a riding a hammer while reholstering a gun.
I have been giving a new revolver a serious look for EDC.

    AND YOU PEOPLE ARENíT HELPING!!!!!

My LCR went back to the mothership three times. On the third return I requested a complete replacement gun and got it. I had a real lemon on my hands.

If revolvers are obsolete, why are companies still coming out with new ones?

I carry one because I have been shooting DA revolvers since I was 12 and I have always shot them well. I feel confident with them. And let's face it, you spend more time feeling confident with your carry than actually using it, hopefully at lot more! I competed with the 1911 and I have almost as much confidence in that, but it is too darn heavy for EDC for my tastes. I keep toying with the idea of a plastic auto and trying them at the range, but I just can't get that confident feeling with them.

For me revolvers never truly left. I carry an assortment of firearms depending on the weather and my mood that day or week. Most of the summer I carried a 4 inch Colt Python. Now a days I find myself carrying my Colt Series 70 MK IV Gov't Model 45 ACP.
