My first off duty weapon, was a Springfield Ultra Compact 1911 V-10. The bushing used to seat the recoil spring, chewed itself up, and the ports proved less than desirable on a self defense weapon. I carried it for almost a year, as I debated between an HK and Sig, and finally bought a P220.

There is a definition about what is considered a "concealable" weapon and what is not. I have at one time carried some none-concealable weapons, concealed. That is all.

I've carried my Deagle in its shoulder rig! Not with the .50ae barrel but with the .44mag and .357mag.

    I see lots of folks listing 1911’s, K Frames & L Frames ..... I still don’t consider those unusual today !

When my 9mm had to go back to the factory for a new slide I had to carry my only other handgun at the time.

A Sig Mosquito .22LR. Open carried it for around 6 weeks.

I now have a CCW and plenty of large 9mm handguns in case one is down or out for repair.......

Yup..mine runs great. Fun plinker. I run it "wet" and use HV ammo. None of the reported issues.

I took two pump action super soakers to a gun fight. Shot both at once and "cocked" both at the same time.

Also, depending on your definition of carry, I took my H&R 9 shot 22LR revolver to work to hunt on the way home. Naturally, the pistol stayed in the truck while at work.

On the small side, I will confess to carrying an NAA .22, a Beretta M21 .22, and a Kel-Tec P32. On the large side, years ago I carried a 4” Smith M19 concealed, and I have carried a Ruger Vaquero.44 mag.

I listed my V-10, not because it is a 1911, but because ports on a 3.5" barrel were not the greatest idea, for a self defense weapon. First time I fired it from a retention position, I ended up with a face full of flame, powder, and lead.

    Once, for a while, I carried a Hi-Standard Derringer...in .22 Long Rifle.

I thought of it as a "Get the heck offa me!" gun.
And it's all I could conceal, at the time.

I carried the noisy cricket for a while, but the recoil was a bit excessive so it’s a safe queen now.

All jokes aside, I used to carry a Romanian .380 in a Uncle Mike’s IWB holster.

I have conceal carried a 6" Desert Eagle .50AE with two spare magazines at work all day around senior law enforcement officers to win a bet that I couldn't do it.

Lima Charlie, did you win the bet?
Did it cover the visit to the chiropractor?
