    Favorite .38 Special?

I have a few, including a S&W 642, Model 36 and Model 10. I'm hankering for some more. Currently bidding on a 1970 Colt Cobra. What's the .38 Special you are clamoring for? Pics welcome, especially from @msgt/ret and @bmcgilvray . Never get tired of seeing pics from their revolver collections.

I have had a 442 for 30 or so years. I'm revolver satisfied.

My all time favorite is the 2-inch S&W Model 10 the first handgun I ever carried concealed.

Then there is big brother 2 1/2-inch M-19.

Then there is big bore 2 M-25s one in 45LC and another in 45 ACP.

And the Master Blaster M-29 44Mag

That is just a small sampling as I have many more.

J & K frame snubs are missing from my life. I had a 66-8 2.75, but it was a POS.

The other day, my first 66-8, 4.25 version, made its way back to me. Took it to the range today and fell in love all over again.
I also had the Highway Patrolman out for a spin, an absolute work of art. But there was more fire breath involved than 38spl produces.
I need a set of N frame target stocks at a reasonable price more than I need more guns.

If you don't have one, I'd shop for a S&W M27 or maybe a M28. It's a 357, not a 38, but it's the king of the S&W herd. If you want to stay 38 no matter what, you can pay far more and get a M20 (fixed sight) or M23 (adj sights), which were the N frame 38-44s before 357 was introduced and S&W created the M27. I would love to find a shooter M20 for a decent price.

I have a bunch of 357s, and I think the last I would sell is my 3.5" M27.

On the other end of the spectrum, I absolutely love my recent manufacture 637. The trigger is just perfect IMO, and it is the reason I got back into revolvers after a 20 year break. I took the lock out, but now I would just disable it. I got rid of the wood grips; the gun is pretty snappy. I now use the S&W rubber boot grips, and they are about perfect for me.

My favorite 38 sp is a 1965 Model 10 that I've had forever, but just recently started shooting. Old guns seem to be more fun, and they all have a different personality.

I love the look of a 2.5 M19, but the 3.5 M27, to me is the best looking of all.
I passed on one a few years ago and still kick myself.

My favorite is my 1974 Colt Cobra which is no beauty queen but has an action that is smooth as glass!
    Favorite .38 Special?-cobra.jpg (FWIW, I got this in a straight trade for a S&W 442 w/ lock!) I have never regretted it!

Here is a couple of 38 Spls that occupy near favorite status in my fleet. Both model 10-5. One with 5" barrel the other with 3" barrel.
