I tried a bunch of different grips but couldn't like it. As I've posted before, recoil is a funny thing. Folks experience it differently. Some think the PPK is a pussycat, it's literally tears my hand up, and the problem is not slide bite. To me, the 325NG felt like shooting 357 in a J frame - not fun.

I finally realized that, as I recently posted in another thread, I am not sensitive to the weight of a carry gun, so I might as well get a steel frame gun that I enjoy shooting. I currently have three 3" N frames, all steel, one aluminum frame Taurus in 44 SPL and a Charter Arms Bulldog that is at the smith being cut down to 2" for pocket carry.

One of my primary CCW, a 3" S&W 629 and my sometime BUG a Taurus 445 in 44 SPL. The Taurus will be replaced by the Charter when I get it back.

M1917 in 45 ACP - just got it, haven't shot yet. This will go in the primary rotation after I ops test it.

M28 modded out to 45 Colt. This one was a trade that has some issues. I need to get it to a gunsmith.

The handguns I want (or more correctly, lust after) in 2020 are a 1911 in .38 Super and Volquartsen Black Mamba. I'm intrigued by the .38 Super cartridge and I disagree with those who claim it's the "same as a 9mm +P." It seems like a good pairing with the 1911 which history of course has validated for us.

The VQ is a their custom target top end mated to a Ruger Mk IV frame. Pricey little rascal (way more than a nice Colt .38 Super!) and the people I know who've shot it in Steel Challenge simply rave about it.
Unless I sneak up on some unplanned, unforeseen "deal" on something, a .38 Super Colt Government Model is all I have on the radar.

If I could sell off some ...

I'd get one of these, a very well done repro of an '80's classic.

I've got my SD handgun "needs" well met, with revolvers in .22LR through .44 Mag & .45 Colt, and semi-autos from .22 through .45 ACP. So, any future purchases will be purely from the "want" list, or impulse buys.

    On the radar:

    Ruger GP100 in .44 Special
    Ruger Redhawk .45 ACP/LC
    Colt LW Commander .45
    DW Commander-size .45
    Kimber K6S 3"
    Colt Cobra (new version)
Colt Cobra (the original, real deal)

I'd also really like to get my hands on a nice ol' Browning Hi-Power, but they seem to have priced themselves out of serious consideration!

I have more than enough to last me for a long time.

I have no solid plans for another anymore. Though an FN FNX 45 screams my name since I like to shoot suppressed.

Some kind of concealable .45, probably a Glock. But I really need a bigger safe first, as boring as that sounds. And it is.

K frame snub of some flavor. I have all the semi autos I want. But the snubbies are what I am missing.
I did get my 649 back from my son.

That Kimber 3” with hammer is interesting.

Actually I meant 629. I had a 329 PD and loved it. The only reason I sold it was that I could not get a bullet crimped tight enough to stay in place. At the same time I was going thru my problems with the 360 PD. I went thru 3 frames in about a month and a half. When the Smith engineer told me they we not made to be shot much, especially with magnums I got rid of both them.

    Now a 329 nightguard.......

No handguns in mind for next year but I'm thinking...Lever action 357, perhaps Henry.

Exactly what I had in mind.

I don't tote the 9mm Government Model I got earlier this year, but I'd tote a .38 Super some with a good load in it.

    You totin' yours any Dan?
