I love a 1911 with a 4" barrel for EDC. But yes, it has to go bang every time.

I have a shield in 9 and 45. Love them both. 100% with my +p reloads. Accurate out to 40 or 50 yards.

My daughter has a 9mm ECP. I like it a lot too.

This thread took my mind off the surgery the night before, thanks everyone! After not so much, percocet is my friend!

Just go with a compact size Wilson CQB with the light options.

The 325, without the rail, is actually 1.5 oz lighter than the M&P, of course it only has 6 vs 10 rds.

I am not a fan of 3" 1911s,even when they work they shoot less than spectacular
I am sure your Defender can be worked out by Colt - I have one there now being worked
    on for barrel issues

    I would check out a CZ75 compact

If you can find one on the used market for a good price the older Springfield Ultra Compact non ported version might be something to look at...it has a ramped barrel..so it will feed just about anything even the old CCI flying ashtray...I have one that I bought used for 600.00 back in the mid 90's...EDC suggestions, no dinky guns or glocks.-springfieldultracompact.jpg pic is my wife holding it.(The pistol is unloaded..in the pic you can see the loose round by the spare magazines.)

    AMEN!

...so the part in bold is where I am now.

CWO did some work on the Defender, had to sand down part where the bullets were hitting and this was the problem with it feeding AND getting locked back. He said it worked flawlessly after he did this. Good, he now has another gun cause that gun done cheated on me and in my mind dangerous to carry, or is just an expensive rock.

My decision is to practice with the revolvers I have, prolly the .357 colt and model 10.

I知 over it, no second chances with guns [am the same with vehicles]. Protecting your life has to be done with something you can trust ALL the time and after a series of this happening with some others too I知 of the mindset that the only gun for me will be a revolver and I have to figure out how to carry a larger one now and get better at shooting it.

Thanks again, I do love many of the guns posted and was in the market but decided no longer because I cannot trust them to go bang every time. 😢

You might make the suggestion, but I think Sister only wants a 1911, IF ANYTHING that is not a revolver, for her carry gun.

ahhh you just don稚 know him

CWOUSCG is like my Revolvers, dependably and safe 100% of the time - I知 in very good hands ❤️
People are not animated objects. People can be forgiven if ever needed, guns and vehicles not so much!

Still gonna shoot and enjoy the other guns (unless sold) but not as an EDC. Enjoy the heck shooting the .45 (when they worked lol). We致e got more than one .357 wheel gun, plan on taking the 堵roup out in the near future and see which one plays the nicest.

If you don't mind me asking - what are your revolver EDC options?
