EDC suggestions, no dinky guns or glocks.

The Colt .45 Night Defender has let me down big time, canít (wonít) carry a gun that Iím not 100% sure will go bang.

Took it to the range for a second time, we have tried out magazines, ammo and just about everything and it still will not feed 100% of the time. After 200 rounds and 5 different mags it has to go.

Tried my PK 380. Shot good, it also had some issues but nothing like the Colt. Took out CWOís fathers 380 (forgot who made it) and it shot perfectly and I shot it well.

So the last 380 is a great carry and I can and will however itís not what I feel safe with, to me not enough bullet.

I donít like Glocks and not changing my mind. Donít want a Taurus either.

    Any suggestions on a semi .45 that will work ALL THE TIME? {easy on the hands too}

Not dissing Colts, just major disappointment in this gun however I really do love the way it feels in my hand and weight wise.
Please relax, take a deep breath....

I carry a S&W M&P 45 2.0 w/thumb safety (can be had without) I like the trigger better than Glocks. My 2nd EDC is a 325 Thunder Ranch in 45 acp, it's a Revolver and it won't let one down.
Now if you're set on the 1911 pattern?

Have you tried a Shield in .45acp? My 9mm is reliable and soft shooting. Iíve heard the 45 shoots even softer than the 9mm
If you use JP-8, then it's technically not waterboarding

There is no such thing as a machine that will work 100% of the time.
That said, I have been carrying a Sig Scorpion 1911 commander size for quite some time.
It goes bang every time I have used it at the range. I nave never needed it in a real life situation yet.
With my luck that is probably when it would let me down.

The EAA Witness comes in .45 ACP and its design is based off of the popular CZ-75. They make a compact version that should be good for EDC.

The S&W sounds good. Revolvers are wonderful and I have some, they are just too heavy for me to carry. I do have a snub in .38 that makes a good back up but not for my daily wear.

My vote is for any decent Government or Commander size 1911 that fits your budget. I've been carrying a Springfield Mil-Spec lately.EDC suggestions, no dinky guns or glocks.-img_20200107_214842_1579728286556.jpg

I have found that for me the .45 shoots smoother than the few 9ís Iíve tried. Plus, it shoots fire.

Shooting fire out the end is a must, I like to see the fire!

It is like the 1911's short fat friend.

Just looked that one up and did see the 4.5Ē and it seems nice, it looks like it was possibly made by the designer of the Glock (ie: it wonít win a beauty contest)
