    Excellent history and video.

    You’re a very articulate person.

I like that original stainless 39.

Thank you so much! I like that 39 too (it's actually factory nickel).

Thanks for sharing. I am a big fan of 3rd Gen S&W semi-auto pistols.

    I'm also a huge fan of 3rd Gen &W semi-autos. It's a shame they're no longer in production.

I agree. I wish S&W would bring them back like they did the classic revolvers.

I fail to see the advantages of "modern" polystriker platforms over a quality DA/SA metal frame handgun like the S&W 39/69/59/40/10/45XX series.

Cool ! I carried plenty of those suckers back in the day. Many different models and calibers. They all worked just fine for me.

As with beauty, "advantage" is many times in the eye of the beholder. Oh, and also the guy in charge of marketing!

Great video as usual I only have one older s&w a 669 . I never carried mine mine much but the triggers better than most DA/SA with a da pull of 8lb 4oz average and sa pull of 3lb 2oz average but the trigger design is what I consider the best pistol trigger out there being wide , polished and nicely radiused . Just easy to shoot well .

    Thanks! Very nice......

I've had a few 2 Gen and 3 Gen S&W pistols over the years. Sadly, most were traded off in a quest for something "better." I really would like to have my 5926 back.

Gotta disagree. I carried a 5906 for 3 years as my duty weapon. Heavy, bulky, lousy trigger pull and not the most accurate pistol I have ever had. From the 5906 we switched to the SIG P-220. Excellent pistol all around, great DA trigger, Aluminum frame and very accurate.

Too bad you didn't have a 5904, or a 5903 to compare to the Sig. The difference in weight from the 5906 is quite noticeable. As to the trigger, I'm kind of surprised. I've fired several Sigs over the years, and I've never been overly fond of the trigger. In any case, thanks for watching and thanks for the comment!

Great video as always. Learned a lot and I had thought I already had a pretty good grasp on the history of the platform’s lineage. I sure do love mine.

An intruder will be incapacitated by tear gas or oven spray, but if shot with a .357 Magnum will get angry and kill you.
