Question Looking for recommendations for a 10mm pistol

The 10mm pistol in question needs to...

be a full size service pistol
have a barrel over 4 inches
    be double and single action
have a steel frame and steel slide
have replaceable front and rear sights
be a pistol that is still in production with the manufacturer
ideally use a double stack magazine but single stack will be considered

Why not just scrap your list and stay with the first item? I've been running a Glock 20SF for many years now. Excellent 10mm.

I purchased a Glock Model 20, years ago but it did not work out as there were several major issues I had with it that were all deal breakers for me so I sold it.

Man, if you could overlook this one part, the S&W 1006 sounds like it would be perfect for you.

Yes I may end up dropping that requirement as the 1006 looks to be a great match. I am concerned about parts availability for repairs as I do most of the servicing of my pistols myself with a few exceptions when I need to get a professional gunsmith involved. When I buy a pistol I get it with the intent of keeping it as I rarely sell my firearms.

I have a Glock 20SF that I bought for bear country and it is surprisingly easy to shoot. Even my wife (5'8, 130 pounds) shoots it easily and well.

So far I’ve found parts for that generation of pistols to be not too hard to find, of course in my case that’s with the much more common 9mm.

I say get either the Glock 20 or the XDM 10mm. They don't meet your all steel requirement but I don't think you'd go wrong with either gun. Both have 15 round mag capacity.

I don't own either gun but I do have the Glock 21 and the XDM 45 and love 'em. I'd choose their counterparts in 10mm If I were in the market.

I have the Springfield XDM 10mm OSP version with a Venom red dot. It’s a great shooter, and unlike the Glock, has a fully supported barrel.

In that case, I’d go with the Sig P220, as there’s better aftermarket support.

I would assume that you could use CZ parts from CGW for a Witness, though, so there is something out there for the Witness.

Having had both, I can say you won’t go wrong with either.

I have a Colt Delta Elite that I really like , but it's hard to beat a Glock 20 for an all-around gun .
