How to buy ammo online if I can't be there to sign for it?

As the title says..... since Walmart has decided to take it upon themselves to keep us all safe and stop selling ammo, online looks like a great option (as a side note, I felt so very safe and secure back when they wouldn't sell it after 10:00 P.M.).

But if I understand this correctly, don't you have to show ID for an ammo delivery and sign for it? If that's the case, it's not an option for me. I work several miles from home and not only that, you can never predict when a delivery truck will arrive. I'm not taking a whole day off for it.

    Suggestions?

I have never signed for ammo. I have submitted a copy of my drivers license to the on line seller. Ammo Seek https://ammoseek.com/ and Gunbot GunBot 17hmr rimfire ammo are good resources.

I've been buying ammo online for several years now, and have never once had to sign for it. Both fed ex and ups just drop it off on the porch and dash back to their truck.

I get it from Natchez, Bud's, and occasionally Midway. Never had to show any ID or anything like that.

I just have it delivered. They leave in behind the gate if I am not home but, my wife usually is and we can track what day it arrives as I don't like to leave it out even if hidden.Never had to sign for it but, several companies give you the signature option if you would like to make sure someone else in the home can't get it like children.
That said, I do not know your state laws which trumps any advice I have.

You can have a locking barrel or box as a lot of people do that and FedEx and UPS are good about using them just put it in the delivery instructions. Either leave an open padlock or have a box that locks when closed and leave it open.

Because we live in a semi-rural area (and frequently do some traveling), we have all our packages, and mail, delivered to a UPS store, where we have a private mail box in town. They take my ammo deliveries for me, no problem.

Thanks, everyone! I'm not sure where I picked up that idea about having to sign for it.

    That makes me feel better.

If you have this option it sounds like the best way to go to me. Great idea.

It works for us, but it does cost money, like any PO box would. They will accept ammo and firearms I have shipped out to have work done. The other down side is I do not have 24 hour access, but they are open 6 days a week and on weekdays they are open until 7:00 PM.

I already have an update. I just ordered 200 rounds of 165-grain .40 roundball for breaking in the new Kahr PM40, plus 100 rounds in 180 grain JHP for carry. I also picked up a 100-round box of Remington UMC JHP's in .45, which I've always carried in my .45's and this was way cheaper than Walmart anyway.

    I love a happy ending.

OMG! Call the local media! Some guy named @SpringerXD has just ordered an incredible amount of ammunition. He must have an arsenal of weapons and be planning to take over the country!

Nobody needs more than 10 rounds.

Just great. Now Nancy Pelosi or Bloomberg or Biden will read this thread and say, "geez, that is a great idea! We need to make people sign for ammo!".

Or our Colorado Socialist Democrat legislature and governor.

BTW - I load most of mine except 22lr. On line is about the only way to some of 22lr brands/types - and I've never signed for those. http://https://goodshootinginc.com/ is my go-to on line supply.
