Wife’s first shots with her new carry gun!

    Finally!!!!

What an adventure this has been for her, and finally her first shots with her very own brand new gun, that she picked and chose for herself after trying so many.

Very first shot from her Sig Legion 938 at 5 yards.

    And then from 7 yards

    The smile says it all!

    And after a few shots from 10 yards;

She is absolutely thrilled with her new gun. I don’t think I have seen her so excited about shooting before, and it is great knowing that was money and time well spent.

Today was just a fun day, letting her familiarize herself with the pistol and checking it for reliability with several loads, including a couple of different HP defense style loads.
There were no issues at all, and the gun was absolutely reliable for her.

Going to 15 yards she was getting a little tired because she is not use to shooting, but the target and the smile says it all!

    Nice shooting.

She does have a pretty good grasp on the fundamentals.

All of the holes in the backstop are mine from previous practice sessions.

    That's great!

7 years with my 938 and I absolutely love it. Something so easy to carry AND enjoyable to shoot is a winning combination.

I still have to try out one of the Kimber 8 round mags though.

The Legion came with three 7 round mags.

The 938 is one of the most accurate little buggers I have ever shot.

Very! I feel better knowing she has something she shoots so well, and is more substantial than the 32.

HOORAY!!!! I know it was a challenge for her to find the right gun, and I'm so very happy that SHE DID IT! Good shooting with a great little gun. And give her a happy birthday hug from me.

I can say the same thing about my P238 Scorpion as far as accuracy. I don't do quite as well with the Rainbow and I suspect it might have something to do with the way my shooting gloves work with the aggressive G10 grips on the Scorpion vs. the much smoother grips on the Rainbow. But those wood grips are so pretty.........and I really don't carry that one. (It's my little BBQ gun.) The Scorpion has become my almost constant companion.

And, BTW, I am also finding that I can wear my $18 neoprene, soft backed belly band a lot higher than I first thought I could and still draw my gun fast and get it on target quickly. With my hip and back arthritis problems that takes the pressure off of my waist/hip area that a real gun belt produces "now a'days."
Getting old was not on my list of "things to do" in the Golden Years!

Yup. But you don’t dare tick her off, though.

Ask any cop here about how accurate a dame becomes when she’s angry with her husband, even with no firearms experience. :D ;)

Good for her. It is so satisfying to do your homework and research out just the right firearm, and then be thrilled with it.

Yeah, those three mags are a nice addition to the legion package since they are quite expensive. Nice looking mags, but expensive. Mine only came with the one 6 round.

I will be getting her down to visit with you and Gramps. Hopefully you can help her figure out what works for on body carry:)

Last weekend my group did a desert run. We had a new couple join us; he works with me, but none of us had met his wife. They aren't strangers to guns and shooting, but our group has perhaps a more intense level than what they're used to. (E.g., 47 guns for 8 shooters, 4 of us involved in competition, enough ammo to start a small revolution; 2000+ rounds launched over 5 hours). I worked with the Mrs., and introduced her to both a 9mm 1911 and a K-frame in .38 Special. With the latter she drilled groups inside 2" at 10 yards single action, and DA was new to her but inside of 2 cylinders she shot inside 3". She did even better with the 1911! I advised her husband that this constituted "marriage insurance"! He took note.
