It's been 7 hours already, someone else probably done already pounced on it like a bum on a bologna sandwich.

Where else are you going to find a 3" with adjustable sights? Go look at it. You'll either love it or not and you can always tell us the trigger was just too stiff or the grips didn't feel right or you'd rather wait until a S&W 3" model 66 showed up for a few thousand dollars. Your decision, not ours.

I've got two. SO FAR, YOU GOT NONE! (FYI, it's a 2 3/4" barrel, as I don't think they made 3" at that time*)

This is my well worn 1976 2 3/4" Police Service Six (fixed sight version of Security Six) that will be left to one of my heirs!

I've got a '78 vintage 6" Security Six I bought used around the Y2K hoopla for $250, and it's a marvelous shooter, built like a tank. I'd jump on that 3-incher in a heartbeat!

At $450, I'd buy it without hesitation.

If he's willing to sell it to you at that price, you need to show him some gratitude.....offer to wash his car....or mow his lawn....or marry his ugliest daughter.....

    ....because that's a great deal!

I would buy that gun in hearbeat. I have a 4" square butt and it is a great gun. I would love to have a 3" round butt. If you wanted to upgrade the front sight, though, that would have to be a custom job, but that's a minor issue.

Well, I just called the guy this morning. It appears that I should check the "For Sale" tab on my gun club's website more often -- the ad has been up since the beginning of Feb. and the Security Six sold a week and a half ago. Durn!
Oh well, I couldn't really afford another gun purchase this month anyway.
