Actually, the Allen wrench/screw hit the market in 1910 - just in time for the 1911!

Dunno how long it was until somebody used one on the 1911 grips, but it would have defeated the point of being able to remove the grips with a case rim!

    Simply gorgeous!

How, uh, "responsible" was UPS in righting their wrong? Did they make it right, and if so, how long did it take?

Start to finish on the claim was about 4-5 weeks.

I had to provide an invoice to show the cost of the Delta, they didnít cover the tax on my purchase or the overnight shipping charges.

Overall, UPS sucks when dealing with a claim.

Added to the 1911-gun menagerie. It just arrived today. It's a bit of a departure for me, not being a great fan of 9mm, but I might be able to force myself to endure the cartridge in this pistol.

I long thought the 9mm needed to stay out of 1911-guns and couldn't see the point in the 9mm chambering in the pistol. About 15 years ago I had opportunity to put a Colt Government Model 9mm through its paces and found the experience quite magical. Decided right then that I'd love to have one. So, we'll see if the 1911 magic will still hold with this one. Sure does look like a fun way to burn up cheap factory 9mm fodder. This one will likely never be a toter but rather a pampered range gun only.

It was almost too dark by the time I got back home and could take some photographs after a perfunctory wipe with a rag. It's not pristine, but it's quite nice for being probably 39 years old. How it shoots, I can't say and it's suppose to pour rain all day tomorrow so I'm bummed.

@sprmx199 Very nice pistols you have there and nice pictures of them, too!

    How do they shoot?

Between the three, do you have a favorite and why?
