    A Carry Option

Anyone use this for CCW: https://lapolicegear.com/maocve.html

    It gets excellent reviews.

At 25% off, I figured it'd be handy to keep important stuff in one place while driving. So I bought one.

I darn near rushed into a holster for my new EMP 3. Then I thought, "What if I don't like the gun (I doubt it)? I'd have 2 bills tied up in a holster for a gun I'd probably sell. So I figured I ought to shoot it a few times before holster picking. This Maxpedition would work with lots of handguns.

BTW, www.lapolicegear.com has very competitive prices & excellent customer service.

I used fanny packs for carry for a while. Accessing your gun is SLOW. Better than other methods of off body or semi-off body carry but not very good. I had quite a collection of different brands and sizes of fanny packs, most of which have now been passed along to others to try. I kept a couple for "just in case" I would want or need to use them in the future for some reason.

I'm not sure, but I suspect that a woman wearing a fanny pack doesn't scream gun like it does when a man wears one. Maybe. OOPS, I see that the one you linked to is not a gun fanny pack. No built in holster or even velcro strips inside to attach a holster. It's just a waist-worn carry sack, albeit a nice one.

I could see a fanny pack that was specifically designed to hold a pistol, with an open pocket you can reach into and pull the weapon out of. And that pocket have some retention for the firearm ..... but other than that I'm not interested in spending that much time trying to my pistol into my hand.

My petite wife wears a small leather fanny pack with a built in holster and can get away with it. She does not own a belt. I occasionally carry a large one if in remote rural areas or wilderness areas with food, water, and survival stuff.

Bermuda shorts, black socks, white shoes, flashy Hawaiian shirt.
No one will look twice at your fanny pack.

But there are times when this is useful...

Put the fanny pack in the front under the Hawaiian shirt and they just think you are fat and fashion challenged.

Guy with a fanny pack - Carrying a gun
Guy with a tactical fanny pack - Carrying a gun and a 1st aid kit.

Maybe not everyone sees it that way, but I think enough people do. If you need to carry off body, instead of a fanny pack I'd suggest some kind of a small sling bag, non-tactical looking. I've got one I use for when there's no other way to carry. It holds pens, reading glasses, notebook, energy bar, and has a holster I installed that can fit a revolver or midsized 9mm without a problem, and the gun rides in its's own compartment. It's light, fits tight against the body, and never gets removed. But it only gets used when there's no other option.

Well, it might prevent holes in ones shirt, but I'll stick to holsters.
