Customizing Carry Pistol, M&P 9C/40C. Conversion Barrel.

    I am picking up my third M&P, I have a Shield 9, 40C and now the 9C.

I purchased the 40C about 2 years ago and had some initial issues, but those issues just pushed my original plan forward. Since I purchased the 40C from Budsgunshop at a really good price of $350, I had all the intentions of just testing it as a carry pistol in 9mm. I purchased a used 9C barrel and dropped it in with no issues. Purchased some magazines and carry system and it has been a range and IDPA pistol for the last two years. What convinced me to purchase the 9C is it discontinued status, so, after some looking around the local shops and talking to my FFL, I was able to find one with a FDE frame, which makes it a little different then the complete black 40C.

After some research, I am planning to have the older 40C slide milled, slide cuts, knurled and cerakoted to use as my primary carry pistol (slide) with a drop conversion barrel, 40 to 9, to get the correct barrel to slide fit, as I understand (NOW) the factory 9 barrel is not correctly fit to the 40 slide.

I am getting the work done by NCEngravers NCEngravers

I just added a Lantac 9ine Bbl in Bronze to my training G19, boy am I catching holy heck from my training crew for having a flashy gun.

I like it, and if they don't quit their jawing it will become replace EDC G17, just out of spite.

I don't train to fight some street urchin, I train to fight the evil version of myself, and that person scares me, because I know the time I put into my training on how to beat him.

Cool, thanks. Been looking around, maybe about $135 or for the lowest cost 40S&W to 9mm barrel that I have seen.

Since I am planning on getting a burnt bronze, battleworn Cerakote finish, I might go with a a colored or stainless barrel.
