    Wink Closest Fitting OWB Holster...

Hiya. I donít post a lot but I lurk pretty frequently...maybe you guys can help.

Iím 5í11Ē, about 185. Iím looking to carry a 4Ē 1911. -and- a Walther PPQ M2 (no, not at the same time). I want a holster for them that holds the sidearm close!...tight! to my side (strong side) and offers a full combat grip. I currently have a leather holster for each that features a tab to protect against sweat and abrasion, but interferes with the grip part. Iíd happily forego the sweat protection in favor of the grip access. Kydex, Leather, doesnít matter if it meets my needs.

Whatever input you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Iíve been looking my eyes out but itís hard when you donít actually have it on and you canít feel it.

    Thanks in advance.

Simply Rugged makes a pancake holster that would make my Ruger Sp101 disappear under a snug polo shirt.

This would be my choice. I've got an IWB rig from them, & have to constantly check to see if I'm even carrying a gun. (I'm not knew to carry either! 40+ years).

Nelson Holsters can generally provide some suggestions, and usually has some good turn-around times.

I have always liked Don Hume pancake holsters for all my guns. I can't afford the $200 dollar ones so its a good holster for a good price.

Holds all the guns I have tried high and tight.

In leather I go with Milt Sparks as much as possible.

For OWB kydex I really like JM Custom, I've used several of his OWBs and they ride nice and close.

    +1

I have a Simply Rugged Cuda and a Silver Dollar pancake, and both are top notch, high and tight holsters.

I have one of these for my 1911 and it works well but Iíve gotten away from leather. The raven concealment owb and the crossbreed owb both work incredibly well.

A good leather holster with a sweat shield should offer protection and a combat grip. I check all of mine before they got out to make sure you can get a good grip on them. A bad leather holster, well there are lots of those out there too.
