    Today's Shooting Session

My days of burning through a bunch of ammo per session are pretty much behind me now that I'm comfortable with where my skills are. Lately, I've been working on tightening up my shots at distance. Today's session involved six rounds, two three-round groups. Both groups were fired off hand, using a Shield and a threat-focused sight picture. Shoot, regain sight picture, shoot again. I knew the second round, which missed the target completely, was a flier to the left. Other than that, I was very pleased with my results. They have improved significantly since I began spending time at those ranges. The target is life-sized. Ranges were 65 and 75, as marked, with the 65's fired first:

65 or 75 feet or yards? With feet it's good. If it's yards, I am truly impressed.

Mike, your time spent a those distances demonstrates what's possible when someone really wants to acquire some skill beyond the tools normal operating parameters.

    Nice shooting

Thanks. As with all shooting accuracy, it isn't possible without effective fundamentals. David Bowie of Bowie Tactical Concepts was able to get me squared away some years ago with some great coaching on my grip, wrist lock and trigger control. That both-eyes-open, threat-focused sight picture you imparted during the Florida class in 2015 has enabled me to work at much greater distances effectively.

    Inches. :)

I've seen people at the range who couldn't do that at 75 inches, let alone 75 feet. Seeing that at 75 yards to these shooters must be like watching some strange voodoo magic.

    Nice shooting, Mike.

You done blowed his trigger fanger plumb-off ! Very smart move for your first shot !

But seriously, that is some excellent shooting, and is indicative of all the directed effort you have invested into the endeavor.

We should all strive for such (seemingly) unreachable goals.
