I think one of us needs to buy a BRKT Golok. I used to want a machete but now I'm leaning towards one of these.
Here's a great picture someone posted for a review.

I prefer mushrooms and asparagus with my steak...no not those kind of mushrooms.

I buy most of my fixed blades for self defense or JIC Bug Out, so until I buy a general use fixed blade I won't likely be using it for daily chores. I do plan to buy a BRKT Gunny like I mentioned to Eric but with G10 scales in a couple of months after I get my next gun buy out of the way. Then I will likely use that one for everything including general use (steak), as well as utilities and in the outdoors. I wonder what the waitress at Coltons (steakhouse) will think when I whip that bad boy out and start carving my serloin with it? If she likes rugged, self reliant, badass men maybe I'll have a new girlfriend, otherwise the cops may show up. Lol

A lot of nice blades in this thread. I only have a few fixed blades and this is the only one I have a picture of, a nice little Gerber A-450. I took this knife with me to the USAF Survival School at Fairchild AFB in 1980. Saw all manner of “survival” knives ranging from double-sided blades to almost bayonets yet this little knife saw more use than all the others in camp. It was real fun during the classroom portion when the instructor was showing use how to sharpen a knife. He was grinding away with a round stone and I was just sitting there looking very bored until he asked if I knew how to sharpen a knife, I pulled this one out and slid it down my arm leaving a nice clean shaven patch about 6 inches by 1 inch, end of discussion.

    A 9MM MAY expand to .45 but a 45ACP will never shrink to 9MM.

    I just picked this up:

I, of course, didn't "need" it. But, I'm impulsive as hell when it comes to things I collect...

Next on the list is a Denmark Special similarly appointed. I haven't been able to find one second hand and in good shape wearing stags.

You'd think I was bmcgilvray with the wicker...
