I have the zancudo and the avispa. They are both good edc knives in my opinion. They hold a good edge under normal everyday use and will take some abuse. With that being said, they both hate packaging tape. Do not cut packaging tape with them.

This has been my EDC for the last 2 years, The Spyderco Manix 2. She's served me well, however I used to pick out knives with tacticool/self defense in mind.

I've since started carrying everyday and want to shift back to a sheeple friendly, smaller EDC pocket knife. Something under 3" and looks nice.

I carry one tactical type knife and a small traditional knife that can be used in public without being noticed. It is usually a SAK, one of the Case knives, etc. I have a new modern-traditional ordered that I am excited about. It is a modern update of the classic barlow design made with modern materials. The steel is M390(my current favorite) with a titanium bolster. These are designed by Mike Latham at Collector Knives and made by LionSteel of Italy. The first run was a spearpoint. There is another run coming soon with the spearpoint and also a clippoint. Just a nicely made pocketknife with attention to small details like rounded backsprings and such.

I couldn't decide between the Roundhead(spearpoint) and the Shuffler(clippoint) so I reserved one in ram's horn and the other in stag. Other handle options include micarta, carbon fiber, bocate, etc.

    Hinderer Eklipse.

This blade shape is awesome IMHO!

Mine's got a bronzed(ish) finish on the other side and "working finish" on the blade.

I'll put up detailed pix if you're interested.
