I carry one of these. Not derail the thread on one of the first responses, but I am a firm believer that size matters a great deal when using a knife for defense.

The Benchmade Triage (posted in my OP) replaced my Kershaw Blur (pictured below) as my daily carry.

Stoutness also matters. How thick is that blade?

Never mind. I found it. It is 3.5mm and is made by Cold Steel. Cold Steel Vaquero Grande 6" VG-1 Serrated Blade Metal Pocket Clip - KnifeCenter - CS21GNSC

Personally, I haven't been very impressed with their products.

Post it anyway. We'll only laugh once, or twice, or a couple dozen of times.

I either carry a Spyderco Ambitious or Tenacious every day. I like the Ambitious because nobody even blinks when I pull it out to do a task, while the other one might get a few glances. I carry for utility over defense, although backed into a corner I'd do what I could.

Forgot about my bench made elishewitz. Found it buried in a drawer recently, probably at least 15 years old. Here is a pic of all 3 for fun. The Official Folding Blade Knife Thread-image.jpg
