    AR Optics

Going to put an optic on an AR that is used for general shooting. Love the EOTechs but I'm a little concerned about all the bad press lately. Looking at the Aimpoint PRO or an EOTech 512.A65. Which would you pick?

It doesn't get much better than an aimpoint pro for the money.

Either one would be a good choice. For general shooting I recently purchased a Vortex Sparc II for my AR. For the price of $199 it is very hard to beat and it performs well.

I just bought one with the money I got from returning my EOTech. Only had it out to the range once, but so far so good.

Aimpoint pro should serve you well and I'm highly doubtful you will regret the purchase.

I've never cared for the EOTechs but I know plenty of people that love 'em so I would assume it's a fine optic. I am partial to the PRO. I love mine and with it being always on and still is able to maintain a 3 year battery life, I really can't say enough good things about it. I also like the 2 MOA dot on the PRO. It's big enough that it's still good for close quarters stuff but I can make hits on torso steel at 250 yards as well.

This question has been answered over and over. The above answer is the one!

    Aimpoint PRO all the way.

I have an Aimpoint PRO. It lives on my Patrol Rifle.
I have a couple of Eotechs.
I also have a Trijicon MRO.

I like them all. I like the battery life of the PRO. I like the picture of the Eotech, but it isn't even in the same league for battery life.

I am going to give the edge to the Trijicon. On setting no.3 it has a 5 year battery life. Its by far the smallest, most compact and its as clear as can be.

Thanks for the replies. I will have to add the Trijicon MRO to my list of options.

With apologies for taking this thread way, way sideways...

I thought I saw a magazine ad for an AR reticle sight that was something like a bifocal eyeglass lens. Top for far away (and magnification) and bottom for near (just the reticle).

Now that I'm in the market for an AR reticle sight, I simply cannot find this product.

Do any of our resident AR experts know if such a sight exists? Thanks muchly, in advance!

You should check out the Meprolight 21. It's the very best in my opinion.

More options than you can think of. Many great ones. The AIMPOINT is outstanding. It and the AR are made for each other. At $422 to $450 it will last longer than you will . 100% warranty for life 3 year battery life even if you never shut it off. I have 2 AIMPOINTS and never regret it .
Real world not everyone can spent that cash . EOTechs dealt with the problem. They offer a great product.
Want to save some money and still have a great one the Vortex Strike fire is worth a look. We have a Sightmark $49 on sale one here battery don't last long but it will allow you to hit the target fast at 300 yards. Cheap peace of crap that works. If the battery aint dead already.

Yes Taurus really does suck. But in fairness they sure turned it around fast on warranty repair. Time will tell
