    Short stocking

I saw this video on facebook where it was posted and said to myself " You have got to be kidding me". First of all Chris seems like a nice guy but he handles guns like a wet fish and he is NOT a shooter. The guy that currently teaches this technique and his minions got all kind of butthurt with me.

I thought I would share it with the crowd here. It may a niche use, but it is not a way I am using a shotgun in a fight.

Lots of Tacticool dudes out there that I would NEVER let hold a weapon behind me. Enough said.

We are talking about a difference of a few inches at most. If the quarters are that tight, wouldn't hip fire work as well?
I have zero expertise with shotguns, curious what others think

Well, they're not this time. Butthurt is temporary. Should be anyhow.

That method may be fine and dandy . . . until you get a mouthful of shotgun receiver. I often have to wonder who thinks up some of these things.

The issue as I see it, is the concept is flawed from the ground up.

Its basically trying to teach someone how to improperly use the wrong weapon for the wrong job, because someone did not apply a little thinking in to the needs of their home defense.

First of all, clearing the rooms in a house is a very dangerous thing to do....x ten if you are alone. Secondly, pistols are for CQB, which is why special operations people are taught transitioning from a long gun to a sidearm.

Just another thing to sell to airheads.

I've fired shotguns but am not well versed in their finer points. But having watched that video the technique demonstrated just seemed off and counter productive.

Ah, in genuine elite units isn't the first person armed with a pistol and the shotgun is backup on the team? Also, with real elite units aren't flashbangs and real grenades a preferred way to clear rooms? Finally, if not in the military or a member of a LE SWAT team who would try to "clear a room"?
