A Couple of Vintage Ponies On The Way

Closed a deal on these two Colt Agents last week.

They're from a trusted source, and they're both said to be in pristine condition. The '61 is possibly unfired. Hoping to have them by the end of the week!

A Colt in .38 Super arrived on Texas Independence Day yesterday. A couple of boxes of blastin' ammo were picked up from the dealer for until brass, bullets, and some high-performance "boutique" .38 Super loads come in.

The two-tone proved to be a "deal" over the blued ones I was keeping up with online. May be too flamboyant for stodgy ol' me, but will view it as a nice change and a unique addition to the 1911-guns on hand.

Hmmm ... I'm not much in to mod'ing but the short trigger and flat main spring housing is a combination I've not used before. Initial handling leaves me skeptical. 1911s with "short and arched" and "long and flat" live here and I can deal with both, but may have to swap out main spring housings on this one and go with arched main spring housing.

Hoping to go to the range and shoot it after lunch if I can finish with business/family obligations this morning and the "young flood" that is forecast to arrive here this afternoon is delayed.

I've always kinda liked the original Yaqui Slide concept, what I didn't care for was their multiple gun for the holster idea. I like the JIT because it's gun specific and light, the first one I tried was for a Beretta 92, it carried that hog rather nicely, thought I'd give the GM a try.

Might be good for all-night gun show duty.

I've mislaid my ancient Bucheimer Federal Man holster since the December Abilene gun show. Keep hoping it'll turn up. Can't believe I'd have left it there. Well ... yes I can these days. They'll be putting me in with my dad at the nursing home soon.

Really, the Federal Man isn't that hot of a holster, it's just familiar from long association. A new holster might do me good.

Sorry to hear that Bryan, hopefully it will turn up for you.

That bottom Yanqui Slide is the new version, I like the original, but I haven't been able to find any one still making it, below is the original style.

Another suppressor stamp. I submitted Nov 27. So I guess I'm doing something right.
