I wonder if John can name ONE gangster, or G-Man from the days when the Government Model was popular with both sides, dying or being wounded because they forgot the thumb safety?

I'm a big fan/student of the gangster era, I can't think of one.

Is it possible to have both but prefer one over the other?

It is nearly possible to have a video without a opinion attached to it.

If someone can dig up a video that just says...Guns with manual safeties are great....Guns without manual safeties are great.
I love them both...The end!....How boring would that be?.....Does that video exist?

    Weird...

The link provided isn't in the usual blue color; it's more of a purplish/pink.

Like I've visited that exact page recently or something...

There is a video on anything and everything, it seems anyway.

I have both! I have pieces w/o external safeties and pieces w/external safeties and decockers. I enjoy carry them both and I do so with no issues because I know which platform I'm carrying on a given day. Yesterday, I carried my HK VP9sk which is a striker fire piece and w/o a safety! But, the other day, I chose to carry my USP Compact .45 which is hammer fired w/safety and decocker. Whenever I choose to carry that platform, the moment that I jump into my truck, I always make sure that the safety is off, so that piece is always ready to run when I need it.

The safety is only a problem if you allow it to be one.

You're 100% correct, EVERYBODY has an opinion, right or wrong.
Some have different views on firearms. John makes a point about new shooters and safeties, which makes sense to me. Not an absolute, but makes sense. Clint loves his 1911s and yeager is starting to play with them. Like you old friend I take the information I need and will leave the rest. As a side note. If Clint says it, I LOVE it....LOL
