Here's what happens some of the time, they go around knocking on doors, you answer, they say they are selling magazine subscriptions, or candy bars, or raising funds for something, but lack any official documentation or ID to support this, or they just say they thought this was someone you've never heard of house. You don't answer, and they break into your house.
Not saying that is the case here, but it does happen

If you're knocking on my door, I know one thing for sure, you don't know me, everyone who knows me calls first.

The kids travelled in pairs and threes, to be as safe as possible, and they sold a lot of candy.

They didn't phone first...they just knocked on doors.
And they weren't casing the joint for later burglaries.
They were just selling candy bars.

I suspect that there may be a small amount of paranoia, in this matter.

Not saying it happens all the time, but it does happen.
I sold all kinds of stuff door to door as a kid, plus I would go door to door trying to get lawn mowing and snow shoveling jobs.
That was a long time ago, I guess kids don't do that much anymore, I used to have to be out super early to get snow shoveling jobs, or the other kids in the neighborhood would beat me to it.

Well, it takes all kinds of folks to make the world go round.
There is a solution but we are not Jedi... not yet.

    Dang!
I just knew that there were lots of different South Americans and Africans who were pedalling their stationary bikes on the equator, just as hard as they can.
    And now you've proved it!
