No, it's not CNN doing the rating. I'm not sure you read the article. The article is about a gun safety reform's group rating. They even link to it at the beginning of the article where they explain this was a gun safety reform group's rating. Here is the website if you want to see the actual results:
Well ... that didn't really work as intended. Perhaps y'all can squint to see who your friends are. Two can play at that game of monitoring "gun safety" scorecards. It's not "gun safety," but rather gun stupidity.
This isn't even good writing, not to mention the evil it intends for our Second Amendment rights.
"Because as Walmart tragically learned firsthand, the risk of having 393 million guns in civilian hands in the United States is really real."
Really real? One must assume that this is opposite to "not really real, questionably real, falsely real, fraudulently real?"
"The project is meant to push retailers to "lean into gun reform," said Igor Volsky, founder and executive director of advocacy group Guns Down America, which headed the project."
Guns don't require reforming. American society requires a lot of reforming such as: moral reform, self-reliance reform, civic reform, education reform, personal responsibility reform, child rearing reform, financial discipline reform.
"In light of increasing gun violence in America ..."
"The stamps bear Joaquin Oliver's face, and the group hopes recipients will use them on product packaging, similar to organic certifications, so consumers can better understand the values of the companies they buy from and to show that there's "a real business case to be made for leaning into gun safety," Volsky said."
"Using the Gun (Safety) Certified mark, my son Joaquin is challenging America's most powerful businesses to stand up and do their part to keep us safe from gun violence," Manuel Oliver said in a statement. "I know that businesses that prioritize the lives of their customers and employees will be rewarded by American consumers for helping build safer communities for us all."
Guns and gun violence are two different things. If the right person such as: school staff, dedicated lawman, or even a parent, had possessed arms then Manuel Oliver's son Joaquin might still be alive today rather than just a tragic face used on some stamp designed to promote a false sense of security to nitwit Americans.
Amazon received a B based on the grading system used. lol . Amazon sells just about everything firearm related except for the actual firearm. Of course this study would get picked up by CNN for their clueless subscribers.
The father of a boy who was killed in a NO GUN Zone wants to put pressure on other places - mostly businesses - to become no gun zones also - SO WE WILL ALL BE SAFER.
Am I the only one who finds it ironic that Walmart gets an “A” for gun safety, yet they have had multiple shootings occur either in their stores or parking lot?
The grading has absolutely nothing to do with safety. Just as almost every gun law written has nothing to do with safety or crime prevention.
