In the big scheme of things, no one needs a $3k 1911, but then no one really needs a $1000 when a Rock Island will do, but even $1k 1911s can be lacking in detail and craftsmanship.

Here's an example from Heirloom Precision (think more like $6k 1911s)

Will a finely blended rear slide make your gun better? Probably not. But if you appreciate it as a work of art and you can afford it, why not.

Most of the people that complain about the cost are just munching on sour grapes.

This land abounds in ruffians and varmints. Their numbers are legion, their evil skills commensurate.

At the risk of hijacking this thread, I drove a big rig once. I Stopped in Brownsville early in the day, and was hungry. I ordered a bowl of green chili. That bowl lasted 1,000 miles!

Which one cost more, the one that looks in-restored, or the one that looks like it was repainted?

Nighthawk makes some extremely beautiful pistols, I love their Hi Powers. The only problem is I just can't afford them

Some of you may remember this,it was a limited production
CZ 1911A1,it was about a grand....Thats a fair price and it was a
tougher gun than any Colt I ever seen

2600 for a reworked Colt by Nighthawk? ,Nah Ill pass but its a nice try by Nighthawk
No one is buying fancy 1911s right now but put a Pony logo on it and it sells
