Glock 17 Chosen as sidearm by French Generals

French Generals have ordered the non manual safety Glocks be carried chamber empty so they do not go off accidentally when thrown down in surrender.

And here's a group that is delighted with the choice....

Is the guy with the medium sized beard wearing an ear plug thing?

Beards look great on fighting guys, big piercings not so much.

Those look to be German soldiers, not Austrian. Glocks originate from Austria.

Not my implication. It wasn't about origin as much as perspective. Austria hasn't really been an issue militarily for France........

I'm sure there is a company somewhere (probably in China) that makes a tactical white surrender flag that mounts on the picatinny rail!

Glock 17 will become more popular for SD and concealed carry for civilians in France.

I could not BELIEVE how much was wrong with that grip - like everything! We have brand new women who never held a gun before come to our Women's group and do better than THAT without any coaching at all! He has a pretty uniform though, given what most camo patterns are like. But it IS France.
