    Smile AR Pistol Build

The AR pistol got assembled this afternoon.
    Del-Ton lower
    8.5" 5.56 barrel
    10" hand guard
    Aero Precision upper
    Anderson BCG and charging handle
    SBA-3 brace
    Armaspec buffer
    Magpul BAD lever

    OSS EL556K Suppressor

Haven't decided on an optic. I have a Strikefire II and a Burris Fastfire III that I'll mount and try.

Dropped the CMMG conversion in to test. CCI subsonic with the full suppressor and you can't tell a gun was fired.

Very nice! I did a build, but all PSA & 10.5" barrel. These are shooting wonders: I was expecting so-so accuracy, but it was fine out to 200 yds (off a bench). Have fun!

Congrats! I've been looking at offerings from PSA with the intent of doing same.

The muzzle edge of the blue tape is at the end of the suppressor. The end of the barrel is two inches forward of that. Had to use two crush washers to get clearance from the gas block(.030).

For now, I'm going to use the Vortex Strikefire II co-witnessed with the Magpul BUIS. Still need to sight it in.

Also added the Magpul AFG I found in my box of spares.

That is a great looking rifle! Did you go with the 8.5" barrel due to the supressor? It has been a few years since I was interested in an AR pistol and it seemed like most recommended a 10.5" barrel at the time.

I have a spare stripped lower sitting in the safe with the PSA enhanced trigger already installed. Was initially thinking about a 300 BO pistol but now I'm not so sure if I want to go that route.

A 10.5" barrel with the suppressor would have been as long as a carbine. With just the first section of the suppressor, it's just over 10".

With the CMMG conversion and subsonic ammo, it sounds more like a nail gun.

Where did you pick up the supressor Airslot?

Ordered from Botach almost two years ago.

OSS discontinued this suppressor about the time I ordered it. Model #EL 556K+. There are still some available, if you search the WEB.

I paid $349 from a $1389 MSRP at the time.

Ordered my pistol kit yesterday from PSA. Going to pick up an Aero Gen 2 lower today from my LGS.

My son and I are doing builds at the same time. He is going 9mm but I am doing a 5.56 build. I am so looking forward to this. I sold my AR about 2 years ago as I needed the money at the time. I have regretted having to do that but I did turn a profit on it.
