Michigan DNR shooting ranges to close down

just got wind of a news report from the michigan state police website that
our wonderful governor and the powers that be with all their wisdom have
decided that for our better health to shutdown all the state run shooting
    ranges.
set to be in effect at 8:00am 3/19/2020 until who knows when.
so thought i would pass it on.

That hasn't happened here yet in Utah. The shooting bays at our outdoor county range are pretty spread out.

If it does happen, fortunately there is BLM land within a reasonable distance where I can go shoot.

Do state employees work these ranges (RSO, etc), or are they open to public operation?

If the ranges here close, I could just go to Ft. Pierce. It's pretty much a shooting range every Friday and Saturday night anyhow.

Private owned indoor range still open here.
    But for how long?
Problem here in Texas is we do not have alot of BLM land.
Most of our land is private property.
Got a few buddies who let me shoot on their land but it is a 2 hour drive. Nothing close for spur of the moment shooting.

@KILTED COWBOY I shoot outside on state or private land. My problem is getting across the three feet of snow!

We have a little 2 lane open range that has zero DNR presence. You're on your own.

I like having options. Our county range is convenient - only 20 minutes from home - but people are not respectful of the range and leave all kinds of trash there. In addition, there is a lot of unsafe gun handling, which is why I usually only go there midweek when it's very empty. BLM land surrounds us, but it's a longer trip.
