Rule #1: The Gun is Loaded
Rule #2: Do not aim your gun at anything you are not looking to destroy.
Rule #3: Do not put the booger hook on the bang switch until you are ready to shoot.
Rule #4: Know your target and what is beyond your target.

Interesting. The story I linked is recent, but the incident was almost a year ago.

Not uncommon, sometimes the story is released again after all the investigation is finished.

Back in 1982 I was on the flightline at Incirlik AB Turkey when a Turkish maintenance man fired off a missile from a Turkish F-4 about 50 yards from me. No detonation of the warhead. It struck the ground about 40-50 yards in front of the aircraft and broke up. I never learned the results of the inquiry.

Any question will have to be asked in print as the mechanic can only reply with WHAT DID YOU SAY , I CAN'T HEAR YOU !!
