    Panic buying ammo

I don't get all these people panic buying all these guns and ammo, worst time to buy is in a crisis. Must be all the liberals that hated guns until the "you know what" hit the fan. I shoot quite a bit so I buy in the best of times in bulk when prices are low. I can't believe what people are paying for 9mm and .45. I hear.40 sales are up over 600 percent. My go to ammo store online, SGAmmo isn't taking new orders. I told my coworker feeling pretty glad I stocked up when I did. I don't see prices dropping anytime soon for a while.

I foresee a lot of these new liberal gun owners going to the ER for self inflicted gun shot wounds. Up 600% on .40? I guess that caliber isn't done for yet!

All the experienced folks here do not panic buy ammo.
Now I did step out today to pick up a stack of whisky and whiskey.

LOTS of first time buyers, many are formerly anti-gun. I guess they "woke" () to the reality that life is uncertain, there are evil people out there and there aren't enough of the "thin-Blue-Line" to protect everybody, especially when the first responders might be sick as well.

May be a case of "You can have any caliber you want as long as it's .40."

Panic buyers include people who buy one box at a time and suddenly realized that might not be enough, and new gun owners who are suddenly discovering that new gun is useless without ammo, which they now can't find.

There are probably also people who have owned guns a little longer but haven't experienced a shortage driven by demand and supply.

The rest of us old farts who've been through these cycles a time or two start buying when supply catches up with demand and prices come down. I've bought thousands of rounds in bulk since I experienced my first drought of ammo and don't feel the least compelled to buy more any time soon.

One of the bills before the Colorado legislature this year requires background checks to purchase ammo. Given that the system is currently backlogged and CBI employees are working overtime trying to catch up, I wonder if they still think adding ammo to the background check load is a good idea? Yeah, I'm sure the antis do.

Yep, I can wait this out for a pretty long time and still shoot once a week. That could change of course but, so far so good.

I went by the LGS today. Their shelves and display cases are pretty bare and they are restricting buying ammo to people also buying a gun. The Oregon instant background check queue was around 400 on the worst rush ever in the past Today it was around 2,600. The guns are stacking up waiting for approvals which may take days.

Thankfully I have three AR lowers. Two with braces and one stripped. All purchased at good discount prices.
Ordered an upper Thursday to finish a pistol build I've been contemplating for a few months.

Ammo is not a problem unless the shortage goes on for an extremely long time. The only thing I'm a little short on is heavy .223 rounds.
