I'm still waiting for an outbreak of Marburg virus with prions. That would be concerning.

Sure, most who contract it will recover. But the fatality rate is something like 20 times the flu, and that's the concern. It may well become a pandemic. That doesn't mean collapse, but it could mean economic disruption if it persists for any length of time.

    Take precautions.
It would seem to me that in order to figure out the mortality rate, we would have to have an accurate infection count. A few days after coronavirus was discovered, there were a dozen or so reported cases of it in Texas alone. Not a single one of those people actually had it. Just a couple years ago, we were all going to die from ebola. As soon as someone with it got dropped off in the US, there was a cure for it. Something having a high death rate elsewhere in the world does not mean it will have the same effect here. Another reason I like the concept of our current healthcare system.

Whether it's this one or the next, at some point there will be another pandemic. The one of 1918 was a doozy. With the speed of air travel and large populations in mega-cities there could be a nasty one not far off.

Keeping a stock of N95 respirators, gloves, goggles, flu meds, pain meds, etc., in the supply room is prudent. Buy while they're cheap and available.

Itís sensational. Chinese people and their obscure hygiene and eating habits, which many of us find repulsive, plus the epicenter nature of the virus have made great headlines. Coronavirus is nothing new...this is the same family of viruses that cause the cold.

I'd like to live forever but it ain't gonna happen. Besides, there's always someone saying that one needs protection from this or that. Only the rich can afford all the stuff that they say we need. I'll just do the best i can and hope I survive. Besides, this might just be a similar thing like the Y2K bug. I was so concerned that I celebrated the incoming century in eastern Europe.

Would it be wrong to stock up on limes to go with the Corona virus?

    Would limes make it tolerable?

Almost too late on the masks. The Gov't is buying them in large amounts. On Amazon, the ones you can find are asking over $300 in shipping. Unless they fit perfectly, they don't do much good. I always hated to wear the darn things anyway. They make breathing difficult after 1/2 hour or less due to the restriction of those layers. The ones the Dr's wear in the hospitals are to protect the patients not them. They are way too loose.

I'm just getting over the flu or maybe some other virus. Backaches, sinus pain, headache, post nasal drip, coughing. Classic coronavirus. Covid-19. Or....maybe I just had a cold? If I wake up dead I'll let ya'll know if the panic is worthwhile or not. Until then....Party on Garth!
