Shut off all the aid we give them when they jump the border. No food, medical, shelter, or anything else. Put them in trucks and ship them back across the border. Heavily fine or imprison those US citizens and companies who would aid and abet the illegals. Get tough! Also stop all trade with Mexico until they begin securing their side of the border.

My major aerospace company requires proof of citizenship to work here in the US. They are quite serious about it.

The Mexican drug cartels are now marketing their services to the human smugglers, namely providing resources to get their "goods" over the border away from controlled crossings, for a fee. The dark side of capitalism.

100 miles from the border here in AZ, border-related issues are quite real and all too common even in the Phoenix suburbs. Drugs, human smuggling and the resulting secondary crimes (property and identity theft, drug dealing, sex crimes) are a huge problem and consumer of LE, detention and judicial resources. And now we are being called upon to care for thousands fallaciously claiming "refugee" status to gain asylum here. Meanwhile, human traffickers offer "rent a kid" programs to enable illegal immigrants to claim "family" status to bolster their asylum argument. ICE & BP have started DNA testing to validate "family" claims, and of course the ACLU is protesting that loudly.

Short of creating a poll here: Do non-border state folks realize the enormity of the border situation? Do folks in states like Massachusetts, Tennessee, Iowa, Nebraska, Utah understand that although the immediate hemorrhage is AZ and TX, it is truly a national problem, and that "crisis" is not too strong a word to describe it?

FIFY, and while they may realize it, it is in their political best interest to deny it.

"Federal investigators said recruiters enlisted adults and teens in Guatemala, some as young as 14, on the promise of good jobs in the United States and a good education. The laborers were smuggled across the border to Marion, located about 50 miles north of Columbus, where they lived in dilapidated trailers. They were forced to work at a chicken farm where they spent 12 hours a day cleaning coops, debeaking chickens and loading and unloading crates of chickens. The indictment said the workers were threatened with bodily harm if they refused work."

Like I mentioned earlier, it's an industry from which everyone profits.
Sounds like Napoleon Dynamite but not funny at all. Apparently, a real chicken**** outfit !

Mostly, they do not, I believe.

EDIT: Alternatively, they know perfectly well, and simply don't care. Either way, the outcome is the same.

Many, many people here in East TN get it.

My best friend is a LEGAL immigrant from the UK and he hates illegal immigration more than anyone else I know.

Illegal immigrants are all over the US. The problem is massive. Far bigger than most people want to admit. We have a rather large transient population of Hispanics who are here illegally. Not all of them, but quite a few. Ironically, a federal law prevents us from inquiring about legal status because "education is for all".

This nation has an issue that has gotten out of control. The issues are now so bad the major news outlets cannot even ignore it altogether like they used to. Sadly, we never needed to get to this point.

Politicians won't fix the immigration problem, because the vast majority of politicians don't think it is a problem. The Dem's want the illegals to increase their voting constituency, so they'll take as many of them as they can get. The Rep's (aka RINOs) are in the pockets of big business and Chamber of Commerce groups who want cheap labor, and while they say they'll fix the problem the fact is they'd rather have the donations. Don't think for a minute that your interests are being represented in Washington DC.

By the way these are the same tards who are supposed to be protecting the 2A

Many of us up here understand it perfectly. We tend to be the conservative, Constitution loving, gun loving patriots that want it stopped now. Catch and release is failed. It should be catch and deport, same day service.

There are other groups and individuals that want it to continue, and in fact encourage it by openly calling for more, even as shelters and facilities and financial resources are tremendously overburdened. One such poor misguided fool is the Mayor of Portland, Ethan Strimling. He is encouraging Texas and Arizona facilities to ship Maine more.

The democrats want new voters and new dependents for their .gov programs - that gives them power.

The GOP is a bunch of sissies beholding to their donors, who want cheap labor.

The inside of those chicken factories is something out of Dante's Inferno. That said, human trafficking of illegals goes way beyond unpleasant jobs that nobody else can or will do.

Criminal illegal aliens are willing to commit the crimes that Americans are just too lazy and unwilling to commit
