Link doesn't go to that article - just the main page of yahoo "news" Probably nothing lost since all of Yahoo's articles seem to be so far left.

EDITED - CHANGED after I got to read the article.

Insanity on the part of the citizens to willing vote for tighter control and letting the government keep track of every single LEGALLY owned gun and the parts thereof! The article does point out that it will not affect guns that are obtained illegally. Well, uh, yeah.

Yeah itís a shame that someone was able to kill over 80 people with a gun like that guy in France did. Oh wait..he used a vehicle. Europe can be Europe. Whether good or bad, what they do in their countries should never be the basis for what we do here.

So do I understand this correctly? After deadly attacks in other countries the Swiss decided to take away their own means of self protection?

    Insanity rules.

Actually, though, I don't think the Swiss can actually carry guns that they own anyway. From what I've read, they must keep their military rifles locked up at all times unless they are going to use them for military practice exercises. Not sure what the rules are for handguns.
    Fixed the link. Thanks.

WOW!!! That's just stupid. That's like saying that Kentucky should enact such legislation because of 'deadly attacks' in Tennessee, Iowa, Illinois and Connecticut. It makes absolutely ZERO sense.

Because of attacks in other countries, with much stricter gun laws, using illegally sourced weapons - they chose to make their laws stricter?

Itís interesting to note how a democracy can act in complete defiance of logic.

So let me get this straight...bad people who do things illegal are going to be stopped by removing the ability of good people to defend themselves. Yah, that will go well. Europe has gone to crap.

I really donít understand how a country reaches a conclusion that they are going to prevent issues that are happening in other countries, but not theirs, by following in the footsteps of the other countries.

What will their reaction be when these laws are enacted and another mass shooting occurs? It will happen. The radicals are in every country in Europe. The next step will be confiscation. Wait for it.

Why does it seem everyone is so willing to give away their rights and freedoms and trust their government? Does no one study history anymore?

This makes me wonder..... How exactly did the government (and their media) 'sell' this to the people...?

I'm not liking how this 'one world order' is turning out.

I suppose everyone has seen this by now but it appears that the Swiss has voted in favor of the EU's wishes:
